WITH THE LOT

A chain – curated performance event exhibiting dance, video art, sculpture and music located in the car park of Lucy Guerin Inc Studio at 14 Batman St West Melbourne. Performances range from intimate in-car experiences reminiscent of days gone by to the wild stunt car chases of Tarantino films and incorporate live sculpting, pop-up story books, dance on screen and new cabaret.

WITH THE LOT came about through Lucy Guerin Inc’s desire to engage more broadly with Melbourne’s contemporary dance community to stimulate dialogue and creative experimentation. Kyle Kremerskothen was invited to devise and implement an event that encapsulated this brief. From this he invited a group of dance artists that were of inspiration and influence to him to create works for WITH THE LOT, with the condition that they in turn invite an artist or number of artists that inspire them to be a part of this event. What has resulted from this is a multi-media, chain-curated dance/art event.

WITH THE LOT offers emerging and mid-career artists of varying media a forum to showcase their ever-developing practices. Contributing artists include Zoe Scoglio (a sound and visual artist who dances), Brooke Stamp (a dancer who sings), Deanne Butterworth (a dancer who chooses what you see and what you don't), David McDonald (a sculptor that performs) and Fernando Gallardo (a singer with a penchant for toy instruments) along with Lily Paskas, Cobie Orger, Jade Dewi, Rennie McDougall, Ben Hancock, Clair Peters, Frankie Snowdon, Tyler Hawkins and Tape Projects.
