Lucy Guerin Inc will be the host venue for two great dance presentations this November. These events stem from a research partnership between the Deakin Motion.Lab, Deakin University (AUS), Centre for Dance Research, Coventry University (UK) and Motion Bank, Hochschule Mainz University of Applied Sciences (DE). At the core of this partnership is a shared interest in the transformative effects, possibilities and implications of dance digitisation.
PUBLIC TALK: “Motion Bank and related research projects”
A free public talk by Scott deLahunta about interdisciplinary research projects exploring digital methods of dance documentation, analysis, visualisation and transmission.

SYMPOSIUM: “Dance Becoming Data & Encoding Local Knowledge”
A public symposium aiming to spark a dialogue on the implications of dance digitisation for the documentation and dissemination of contemporary dance as well as other forms of embodied practice.
When: 25 November at 12.00 to 6.00 pm (LGI Studio)
