Rennie McDougall

Collaborator and Dancer - Conversation Piece

Rennie McDougall is a Melbourne-based performer, choreographer, teacher and writer. Since graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), he has worked and performed extensively with Phillip Adams’ BalletLab as well as performing with Chunky Move, Lucy Guerin Inc, Luke George and Collaborators, Stephanie Lake, Lee Serle, and US artists Wally Cardona and Jennifer Lacey.

Rennie has created short works for Next Wave Festival and for Lucy Guerin Inc. He premiered his first full-length work SUPERTONE as part of Next Wave Festival (2012), which was nominated for a Green Room Award (female dancer – Lilian Steiner.) He recently presented yes dance for Melbourne Fringe (2013). He has written critical articles for ArtsHub and Realtime magazine, including a recent interview with artist Deborah Hay.

In 2014, Rennie will be co-facilitating First Run at Lucy Guerin Inc with Brooke Stamp.

Recently Phillip Adams’ Balletlab commissioned Rennie to create work alongside Phillip Adams, Matthew Day, Luke George and Andrew Hazewinkel for Kingdom.
