Briarna Longville

Collaborator/Dancer - Motion Picture

Briarna Longville is a Melbourne based contemporary dance artist. In 2009 Briarna moved to Melbourne to study at the Victorian College of the Arts, graduating in 2011. In 2012 Briarna was awarded a Professional Pathways Scholarship by the VCA, which allowed her to complete a year long mentorship with Lucy Guerin Inc. In 2015 Briarna made her debut performance with Lucy Guerin Inc, in the company’s most recent work Motion Picture, which premiered in Melbourne’s Dance Massive Festival.

Briarna recently attended and performed in APAM 2016, showcasing a collaborative work Semaphore choreographed by Timothy Walsh and directed by Kate Neal for Arts House’s 2015 season. Briarna was nominated for a 2015 Green Room award for Best Female Dancer, for Lilian Steiner’s Noise Quartet Meditation, premiering in the 2014 Melbourne Fringe Festival. In 2016 Briarna performed a second time with Lillian Steiner in her most recent work Ascension into the everyday sublime which premiered in the 2016 Nextwave Festival.
