Alisdair Macindoe

Alisdair Macindoe is a Melbourne-based dancer and choreographer who trained in dance at the Victorian College of the Arts tertiary and secondary institutes.

He has performed with Lucy Guerin Inc (‘Human Interest Story’, ‘Untrained’, ‘Structure and Sadness’, ‘Weather’, ‘Conversation Piece’), Chunky Move (‘Connected’, ‘Assembly’, ‘I Like This’, ‘Keep Everything’, ‘Two Faced Bastard’), Antony Hamilton (‘Drift’, ‘I Like This’, ‘blood and Bone’, ‘Keep Everything’) Stephanie Lake (‘DUAL’) and Leigh Warren and Dancers (‘Seven’). He has also performed works by Katrina Lazarof, Lina Limosani, Nat Cursio, Jo Lloyd, Gerard Van Dyke, Underpass, Bare Bones Collective. Other performance highlights include his own works, ‘Bromance’ (2010), ‘525600LOVE’,(2009) and ‘Pay No Attention to the Man Behind the Curtain’ (2008).

Alisdair has performed feature shows in many international towns and cities including Aarhus, Athens, Brooklyn, Cork, Davis, Dublin, Durham, Glasgow, London, Massachusetts, Montreal, NYC, Ottawa, Paris, Pilsen, Portland, Prague, San Diego, Seoul, Toronto, UCLA and Nationally to Adelaide, Bendigo, Brisbane, Golden Grove, Hamilton, Hilton, Hobart, Horsham, Marion, Noarlunga, Perth, Portland, Shedley, Swan Hill and Sydney.

Alisdair was the recipient of the 2013 Helpmann award for best male dancer in a dance or physical theatre work, the recipient of the 2012 Green Room’s best male dancer award for his year’s work (Lucy Guerin Inc & Chunky Move), the recipient of the 2004 Friends of the VCA scholarship and was nominated for the 2008 and 2013 Green Room award for best male dancer.
